I was wondering if anyone has setup an Farmall 856 for hot farm stock. I was wondering what turbo you used and if you used another pump, and what can be done to inside of the motor. We have been pulling 560's and 660's and decided to get something bigger and we are new to the 856. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

I've never messed with an 856 but on a 1206 which is basically the same were putting out 195hp with no internal mods. This is what we did, pull out the air filters, yes both of them, if you've been in the 560's pump there about the same we put double rollers in ours and have bent the leaf spring just so the rollers won't fall out. Then back your metering screw out you can usually tell when it runs the best. Were running a 3LM 466 Special turbo which is a replacment, builds about 30-60 lbs. of boost. The 12 sounds like a jet when you get to the end of the track. The 407 can be made into a 540 with the right machine work then your talking big$$$ Thanks
