I know the 620 is rated for more power, But with a fresh stock rebuild in both tractors will the M stay with the 620 on the sled,..... thanks " Bud "

That deere would be no match for the farmall M, even though a 620 is definitely in the super m class. Where I pull they gave up pulling 2cyl deeres 20 years ago.

Remember unless it is red leave it in the shed!!!

Neither one has enough power to pull much if it is "Stock." Old MM's with a little parts swaping can beat them all including a Case 400.

Well, you've heard all the if's and's and what if's. The answer to your question,AS IT IS WORDED,is a very simple NO. Each tractor is what it is.

The "stock" 620 has the advantage of that 1.5 mph low gear. It'll usually pull 10,000 lbs plus on a good track. The "stock" M however has a much faster 2 5/8 mph low gear and much over 7000 lbs on a good track will usually give a stock M as much as it wants.

If they weigh the same? Depends all on the tire style, air pressure, rim width, hitch height/length, fore/aft balance and driver skill. As for the anount of "work" they can do? A 50HP tractor can perform 125% more owrk per hour than a 40HP tractor.

M being 42hp, super m being 47hp, smta being 47hp and a 620 at 48hp it seems they should be a good match. with that creeper gear on a biting track it should outpull anything except a tractor with gears or hp to match

Every year at Fair time my son and a bunch of his friends take my Super MTA to a couple of pulls. This year they beat a 620 and a 730. Got beat by an M and MM ?. All they do is move weights around. Nothing special has been done to the engine. So tune up the M and go have some fun.
