I wonder what the next big thing will be in Div 5. The rules are wide open from what I can see. Some examples, 354 Perkins or 5.9 Cummins on gas in Olivers and Cockshutts. 301 Allis in WD45 or D17. 360 series on gas in IH 460/560. The sky is the limit on some of the lesser known brands, Lehr, Custom, Wards, etc.

Kind of takes you back to the NTPA in the 60s and early 70s.

Hey, you guys are scary! I'm currently rebuilding a WARDS that my Dad and Grandpa used to pull with. I WAS strongly considering joining the NATPA until I started seeing angry comments about the club. I'm planning on running DIV III with the WARDS but DIV IV is very appealing. I don't see the problem, myself, with the rules for DIV 5. THis is a class for some very serious power so why not promote modifying the tractors to the max just as long as there are some safety rules in place.

I got my handy tape meausre to kick your Wards/Custom out of all NATPA classes. We're cracking down on motors that are to long.

Did I forget to tell you that we DO NOT inspect NATPA officers. You might want to run for the NATPA treasure, (it pays the best)

Ahhhhh , run for treasurer, make some $$$ to pay for my illegal german diesel chrysler, be on the board so it does not get inspected, what a life! I COULD do what Brooks/Bear schemed up 2 years ago, and pull my Wards a couple years, then vote to give 460's some more rpms, heck let's round it on up to 5400 rpms, AND it'll look innocent, remember, I'm pulling a Wards (like Bear pulled an 880) EVEN though I'm building a 460 at the time!! However, it seems the "old kids on the block" with their 460/560 IH's (ex: Brooks) are JUST A LITTLE WORRIED about the new 460 of Bears! If you look on other forums, they are all selling their motors (pullsite.com) and building new ones??? Is GERMANY now invading the NATPA with its own fleet of engines! Look out div 1,2,3....their old motors will soon end up there with you! I know, too new, not for long, they'll get the rules ammended, they always do!

Do you pull in Division V? If you don't, don't be worrying about their rules. I pull in division III, and I'm not worried about them. Are you even a NATPA member?

I believe my name and e-mail are correctly listed. No, I am not an NATPA member. I have several people that I consider friends that are, and a few of them pull DIV 5. Please don't confuse worry with curiosity. I enjoy competition as much as the next person.

The blocks must be the same length, not longer, not shorter! Must be of same manufacturer.....Cummins????

Same before or after modifications? With most of the brands under the AGCO umbrella, who is the manufacturer?

Can NOT be modified, DOES NOT matter if you've got the ONLY block in existence to be "modified" vs every other block they measure, if its wrong, its wrong. That is the "supposed issue" with Bear's "supposed" German Diesel block he is trying to run!

I don't see any mention of modification restrictions. I think that letting them "run" is fine. Saftey is certainly an after thought though.

Remember this is the NATPA you're talking about. Rules only apply to a few people. If you know the right person, you can run anything.
