Would you be better off running a stock spring instead of a real stiff one in the Division's that only allow you to turn 10 or 20% over stock? Thanks Shaggy

Heavier spring is the way to go.

It will give you a bit more gound speed and be more responsive down low too....it is going to react quicker when the load hits you!

Not sure why the other message says a stock spring will work better down lower. You want you butterfly to open sooner!

Go with a heavier spring.

If you are funning an m, h or 300-450 get an old bed spring there about 15-20 % beefier.

The lighter the spring, more governor action
at lower rpm's. The heavier the spring more rpm's with governor action at higher rpm's.

the stiffer spring is to overcome your gov weights, you can lighten the gov weights and run stock spring, i run a 560 and went to ih dealer and got new spring about 10.00, i can now adjust my rpm to 10% or 20% over, no problem. springs get weak over time and cant overcome the gov weights and drops your rpms. for a couple bucks you can get a spring at tractor supply thats a little longer and that should work.
