Goodyear designed them to stop wheel hop and long tread life not pulling on a clay track

Actually GY made them to stop the shuddering of the Sound Guard Cab on the 4030/4230/4430/4630 model tractors when run on hard pavement. Run a Deere with Firestones, or GY Power Torques on the road and the cab will shake back & forth so bad your afraid the cab will collapse. The GY OEM Sales Manager at the time the "Dyna Torque" (first LB/SB) came out told Me that.

Those deeres aren't any good, they rehash an old idea and call it a new one and THEN they have to have the tire companies make a new tire because their tractors can't even drive down the road without breaking down.

deeres are junk

Buck you could be right but the only saving feature of the long bar short bar is it can be made into a double cut with a tire machine

Firestone, not Goodyear...

you might be thinking of the Firestone version of the longbar / shortbar. The compound on the Goodyears is still too soft (without hardening) and I believe the tread angle is still wrong (unless you cut the doubles into the carcass meat).
