Hey guys,

Do find better results with the tires in close or out wide when pulling?

Thanks in advance for the help.

Vic

As close as possible most of the time.

I had a set of 14.9 x 38 firestones 20% tread that were hard at 13 pounds of pressure set in close this seemed to be the best combination.

I have pulled tractors and pickups since 1980, Vic and don't see anyone with tires set out past the width of the sled. If one sets width wider, one would have a tire pulling on differently packed soil (by the sled). I set (had to) pressed steel rims way out on my Allis WD once as an experiment, and almost got last place. Of course, this is just my experience.Good luck, and have FUN!
