Not buying it.

Well I see that SATPA decided it was too much trouble to verify stock blocks on Olivers, ACs, Deeres, MMs, etc so they're gonna let those slide. The farmalls however will have to comply with the original block rule since it's so easy to tell on them. Well now that's fair I reckon unless you happen to be a farmall puller with the incorrect block. I wonder who supports this silly rule cause everyone I've talked to about it thinks it's BS.

What a bunch of whiners. Why not go out and build your own track with lights, sound system etc; build your own sled, coordinate the schedule, maintain all the paperwork for points, provide the concession stand, provide the trophies and make your own rules. But Oh No, you don't want to do that, do you? And no, you don't want to try to get along and work things out, so go ahead and boycott, drive the extra distance to other tracks and have a good time - we'll be just fine without you. And to those of you in support of SATPA, I'll be there pulling with you and having a Grand Ole Time. See ya'll tomorrow in Bishopville.

They cant beat the Farmalls so they legislate against them. All blocks have a no.cast in them any third grader can read it.AN 88 Oliver is not the same as a1650 1800 etc. Duh wheres your glasses?A Super m 400 450 all have same no. all parts interchange.Go spend 40 bucks for a grille emblem and decal set presto you now have a Super M and block is legal.Better yet send a correct block to Lemmons in Ind. they will make it 500 plus ci. Happy pullin ya all.

I primarily pull Deere but we have a couple farmalls that we will pull, also. I agree that it is a bunch of crap that someone would worry whether the block say 264, 281. It is pretty much common knowledge that the over bore kits will work with a little block boring.

Thats is because he only had 20 or so tractors show up at his last pull.It hurt his pocket book.Had to start selling his food at 1/2 price to get rid of it.Keep Boycotting him he will come around or close up.

WOW!! Sure is a lot of fuss about something! I came to the sport of pulling last year at the urging of a couple of buddies. I was bitten by the bug when one of them let me drive his old Oliver, finished 2nd in the class on my first pull...bit hartd at that point! We pulled at SATPA all last year, came to every pull and worked as hook or unhook drove the pull back. One of our group worked and didn't even own a tractor! After the banquet we started hearing rumblings of not wanting the "ORANGE" tractors doing so well. I can only think of a couple of tractors I would consider "STOCK" All the rest have been bored, stroked, tweeked, bent, screwed, unscrewed, hacked, whacked, wheels replaced, you name it.I have but one thing to ask. How do you propose a fellow can compete with a $10,000.00 motor? If I can't compete I have to go play in someone elses yard! Hope the problems get solved over there. I will keep my ears to the ground and listen for the signals. Life is far to short to worry about this kind of garbage!

I don't get it. I thought you people liked to have to tractor pulls. Why would you want to close down SATPA, So that you can drive a hundred miles or so just to pull. That is surely not what I want.Rules are rules and they have to be made to stop things from getting out of hand. The block rule may have hurt a few people but big deal, it will make for better and more fair pulling in the long run.Instead of talking about boycotting you need to try to work to help the association grow and become something that we can be proud to be a part of.If you still don't like the rules then pull elsewhere, but I'll be staying right where I am at.

Been tractor-pulling for 10-11 years. The only reason Mr. Plyler has his own association is because he couldn't abide the rules of others. So he started his own, made his own rules, so he could be competitive. Looks like he's on the other side of the fence now.

So you and No-Einstein are saying you are COMPLETELY satisfied with the rules of OTTPA and others in the area? Interesting..... ... As was said earlier, if you don't like SATPA, stay away - it's time you find something else to moan about. It's sad to think you'll leave this earth worrying about SATPA rules!

You are right. I was at Denton when a board member with OTTPA ask Darrell to please not make so much noise with the "Mighty Massey" in the pits. Made him mad so he loaded the Massey 2000 lbs heavy and was going to pull the sled out the end and keep going as far as he could-spun out around 170 feet. Then he was really hot. He made the statement then that he would start his own pull and make his own rules.

I like to tractor pull as much as anybody, and I know we have to have rules and enforce them. The rules however are what's getting out of hand in this case. The numbers on the block mean little or nothing. ANY thing that can be done to one can be done to all of them. The 264/281 [Which incidently is the same block] has about an 1/8 inch more cyl wall thickness. Any or all can be bored and sleeved as much or little as the other. Foolish self-serving rules like this is what keeps the association from growing. Just like the new points rule. Who gives a happy who's driving as long as the tractor is there and pulls. This will make it harder on families who pull the same tractor.

I guess that a L Case with a Detroit Is stock he bought one of those so made the rules say that it is legal but a M with a super M block is not. They have been legal ever since he started the club. Then one day he just decides they are not without asking the club members opinion. Whats not to get

If the blocks don't belong do the pressed steel wheels, lightweight 460 front ends, 400 gas and 450 LP heads and manifolds? Seems to me those things aren't exactly "stock appearing" either, and there's a lot more HP to be gained with the heads than the block.

Well gee I thought we were talking about diesels besides modifying a stock engine is something totally different than putting a completely different engine than came with the tractor.
