I have a friend that has a Farmall 560 diesel that he pulls in antique tractor pulls. The tractor pulls pretty good but may be getting a little tired and he would like to perk it up a little this winter without breaking the bank. I know the 560 and 660 have the same engine but the 660 produces more horsepower, primarly due to increased RPM and pump settings. Track speed is limited to 3.5 MPH so more RPM may not be the answer. is there anything else he can do to this engine to get more power at a lower Rpm. Thanks for any input.

We took a later 560D, and turned the pump up a 1/4 turn on the torque screw, and picked up 7 hp. Seemed to start easier,,,, If its tired though,,, if the sleeves look good, maybe re ring it, and new rod bearings,,,,, that will help alot!! We did not turn the rpm up,,,, did not think it needed it,, was about 72hp after it was all said and done,,, Chad
