Off of the top my head I think DD combustion chamber is sloped off some on side away from spark plug and CC is not. Think DD was used on SH tractors. If you can find date code on head that may give idea if its CC or DD.

Yep, 8043 DD is an exact replica of the 300-350 gas head casting,,, but with the old 4 digit casting code, but,,, DD is the last prefixes. DC, etc etc are H gas heads. DC heads,,, They are a decent cyl head, and you can mill the heck out of em and get some good results. Dave,,, how's things going out in your area????? Got cold here real quick. If its still warm there,,,, Ill send you some colder air.... special delivery! Chad

Cold enough! Yeah the gasket surface, or called cyl head plate. Plate thickness,, after milling should be no thinner than .300. You can measure it at one of the water ports with a set of small calipers. You can recontour the chamber in the DC heads,,,,, if your using firecraters,,,, you gain CC's, so it can possibly lower your cyl pressure, unless you have a huge domed piston to fill in the gap. 350 heads are still resonably priced,,,, so Id put money in one of those and have a tad over what you would spend working over the stock H gasser heads. JMHO,, Chad
