Can I tractor pull with an 8n or 9n.

If they were geared lower, they would do better. A step-down transmission option would help. You have to split the tractor to put it in, though. The other problem is that heavy percentage of weight in the front end versus the rear. That's why most of them have loaded tires and why Ford offered the Vari-Weight system for the wheels. At any rate, run a long drawbar to lift some of that front end weight to the rear. Even with wheel weights, that lifting won't occur, unless you use a long drawbar.

As far as the model of tractor, yes you can pull either one. Here in W. Pa they are not the choice of most pullers. The few that have pulled really weren't all that competitive. Not saying they can't be, just been my experience in these parts. I do know the neighbor has pulled a ton of trees out of the woods with his fords. Don't think his front tires will ever wear out being they are never on the ground.
