I have several pair of 15.5 x 38 and some 9-bolt 14" rims. Armstrong curved bar, BFG 30 degree, Firestone F&R 23 degree, Firestone Deep Tread 23 degree, Goodyear Traction Torque squiggle tread, and even some 14.9 45 degree old firestones. One set is getting top cut for my Moline U in 5500# and possibly 4500# class. Which one to use? Dang Deep Treads are so heavy!

I have a pair of 13.6 non cut Goodyear traction torque, which I have seen beat a lot of 18.4 cut tires. I have never ran 15.5"s. It depends on your track condition....
If they were a decent looking tire 50% tread I"d run the Goodyear.

I don"t like Goodyears truck tires and won"t recomend them.

Not at this time. Maybe in the future. Just sold off a bunch of extras including Coop 15.5. But I need to figure what I'm going to use and not use. A few projects going on around here.

Ethan:

At the risk of offending some folks! At any given time and place one of the tires you describe will beat all of the rest; depending on the track conditions. I agree that the Firestone 151s are a good tire. In "good" track conditions maybe the one with which I would go. Out here in upstate NY, weather can be the dominate factor determining track conditions. Thus, there are times when other tires, even the old Goodyear straight bars, take home most of the wood.

I like to win as much as anybody, but pulling still has to be for the fun and fellowship to be worthwhile for me. Maybe keep an extra set for wet or loose tracks and change out the rims?

On the other hand, order another chicken barbeque dinner, back in, hook up and cut 'er loose!

Have a great Holiday, best, Yeoman

Over all the Field and Road is the best you have for top cutting, Armstrongs are great too!
