I saw what used to be Tilley's "Under Pressure" Oliver 88 pull Saturday night in Springfield, Tn. 2 full pulls back to back. If it weren't for the fence he could have taken the sled all the way back to the house if he wanted to.

Randy Head is going to be hard to stop with that machine.

Boy it seems to me just by readung all the bickering over this tilley guy I feel like I know him on a personnal level if I was him I would be flattered to have all these people talking about me obviously the man can put together a strong tractor seems to me everyone is possibly jealous! I hope he reads this board because I'm sure he knows some of the people who consistantly dog him on the keyboard. But when at the pulls sre his best friend. I would like to meet the guy just to see what all the fuss is about.

There was another 88 that pulled out in the same classes. Head refused to pull the pull off, said his tractor was to Hot. No big show!!!!

if you couldn't pull back to back to try and win, why would you even bother showing up?

Gentlemen, stop all this fuss! It's just Tilley's old tractor, not a major contendor, or threat to anyone with a good tractor!!

That comment is really uncalled for! It doesn't matter if he bought it or built. Someone owns that tractor and would you like someone talking about your tractor like that. This is suppose to be a fun sport and inconsiderate comments like that is what ruins for everyone.

Fact, He decided not to pull back to back before the pull started.

Fact, it didn't get to hot nor was it going to get to hot.

Why, he has nothing to prove to anyone.

Jeff's Reynolds tractor has a well engineered motor design to be cranked on. Randy's was built for NATPA legal pulling.

Jeff bounced off his rev limiter at almost 5 grand.
Rancy only turned his up to 2700 on the second pull.
Jeff's tractor was built to run in any gear, any mph, any rpm. I thought they both looked equally strong.

Like a gentleman, Jeff agreed to split 1st and 2nd in the 4000 and 4500 pull.....after Randy said he could just have it. Neither men had anything to prove.

Now..... ... you all know the rest of the story.

I agree. Both tractors put on quite a show.
The 2 guys shook hands smiling, and departed on good terms.
Randy's tractor has water only in the head. Normally pullers would have a lot more time between pulls in order for the engines to cool. At our little pull you may have to pull every 5 or 10 minutes because of the low number of puller present.

Did Andy ever get his 88 going again or what was he going to do with it? I would like to see his, Randy, and Jeff's tractor all pull together. Hopefully Randy and Andy will come to Sevierville, TN this year. I haven't seen their tractors pull yet and have only seen Jeff's pull once since he finished it.

Andy is having a steel crank made. It is under way. No ETA on completion. He is about to go nuts to get it back and jump in on the action.

He didn't last week but I expect he will continue.
He only brought his hot rod. Both his competitors broke on the track during the first pull.

I'm sure Brooks and all the others Under Pressure or is it "Over Heated" will pull against at NATPA events will just split the purse too! They are nice guys also! What a swell story that was, did Randy and this other guy hug, too!? On rpms, I don't think Tilley ever ran it at 2700, it was allowed 2500 something but he always ran it at 3000++++, he had to do this and use wrong fuel to try to win! Oh yeah, everyone is STILL SCARED of Tilley's "new project"!! Tilley, Lustik,Blackborn...his name carries the same weight!!??

so is the bottom line that Randy is not prepared to go up against the big boys and try and win?

REAL Gentlemen are RARE, these days..... .

Glad there are still a few.....!!!

TOO many " Theives, Crooks and Hot-Heads ", anymore...!!!!! Too Bad, but I guess we all EXPECT to see the WORST before we see any good in a person, anymore.... As A Combat-Hardened Vet, I can't tolerate much of that.....

Who would gut check a tractor like that every weekend at a pull that nobody knows about for a purse that wouldn't buy a good steak.

Who would he have to beat just one time to have a tractor atleast a step above shoddy.

Who cares, its all just for fun anyway.

Princeton and Murry are probably the only two places outside his home state it will ever go and two pulls will not set a benchmark on what kind of puller it is.

Randy is not a bragard like so many of the others we meet. He is a soft spoken guy. Truly nice to talk with.

Unless something breaks, Randy will be at everypull he can attend.

Randy told me Saturday that since no body knew him and maybe they might not pick on him for a while.

Tilley's tractor was a first class opperation.
It looked as good as it ran. Just because he was made an example out of on the fuel doesn't
mean the tractor and driver wasn't a good one
