Thanks for the info
I just was given a truck with a 300 in it just for the hauling
Where I pull we run an outlaw class that is unlimited speed and rpms

I was looking at my wc and realized the 300 and tranny would be an easy swap

I've already located an intake for a 4 barrel and some late model exhaust manifolds that are really steel 3 into 1 headers

Now all i need is another allis to put it in

There was a guy in Ohio who ran a red and gray Ford 6000 with a 300 in it. It turned 7000 rpms - looked like fun to drive.

Heres a couple thoghts to roll around the old noggin.

1. the old ford 6000, 6000 commanders came equipped with the ford 223 inline 6. These gasoline 6 cylinders that were also found in the ford f series trucks in the mid 50"s are kind of comparatively the grandfather to the later 300 6 cylinders. So, it should be a fairly simple swap to do.

2. Look around here on the internet for information on performance parts for the ford inline 6s, because there are quite a few drag racing cars running comp classes with inline 6 cylinder engines.

Now there are a few issues like rpm"s (Probably not going to want to turn 8 grand like some drag racers), and carbureation (down draft vs. updraft). But I agree that there is some potential there.
