I tried a few months ago to ask this question on the AC board and never got a true answer. I have seen a WD running a 292 pull at some local pulls. I am interested in building one of these to play with. What has to be done to make this swap? Is it a direct bolt in? Any help would be appreciated. I am not talking about the GM motors that were in the Gleaner combines, either.

Come and get what you need. There was a 292 a couple of miles from you. Its behind the sawmill in Cerulean,I'll try to go see if it's still there. If you want to have fun take the motor out of your brothers truck.

I have one of the WD's with the 292 on it. It is a lot of fun and a good ride. It is compeditive in the 4000lb. and under class. I did not pull much last year and am thinking about selling mine. If you are interested in buying one ready to go, mine is for sale.

the wd you saw was from Paris Tn and I think was built by Don Ivey. I personnaly have not seen it pull but have heard he has a lot of fun with it since he runs outlaw class no speed limit no rpm limit
I am presently gathering parts to build one with a 300 cu in Ford six cylinder It may take a lot of work but I think it will definitely be fun even if there is an Oliver there

Are you sure it wasn"t a 262 allis? They came in some gleaners and the D-19 as a gas. The WD45 diesel used the 230 buda diesel.
