If you run that motor you will need a truck load of ring and pinoin gears. That's the weak point on the Customs.

It looks like it got a WDO CARTER carburator sitting on a throttle body controlled by a governor to control RPM. CENTAUR

Pulled that tractor in southern Indiana years back and snapped a driveshaft or something back in 1998? I have a close twin tractor on video on a Custom with that exact same color scheme,,, Is it you, or this tractor? I found an old custom, its got a flat head but never counted the plugs,, 6 cyl at least,, Those old mopar engines,,,, they can run with a ollie anyday! built a flat head mopar stroked in a 101 a while back,,, MH's Customs, whatever had those flathead MOPARS in em can whoop on a WD JMHO,,,

You mean to tell me that I am a movie star? You know that was the last day that I pulled the Custom. I do believe I have the problem fixed though. Its my understanding that Custom used 3 different engines. 1) 217 / 235 6 cyl
2) 251 / 265 6 cyl
3) 315? 8 cyl
I was told many moons ago that they only made 10 8 cylinder Customs. They were considerd to be gas hogs and they just didnt go over very well. I havent ever put mine on a dyno, mine didnt have the PTO option. Mine is not stroked. It is bored out .060 over. I think I did a very good job porting and pollishing.
The 8 cylinder version has about 12 inches longer wheel base than the 6 cylinder version. The frame, and hood are longer.
I bought mine as a puller and I believe that the frame rails are not origional. This was done to get it in the 3500 lbs. along with some other efforts.
The only thing I do with this tractor now is drag race it at our local shows tractor rodeo. It does 0 to 45 mph in 200 feet. I have been asked to sell, and I will but it isnt cheep do to it being rare.
I use to pull a Super 101 Massey in the 80's. Also have some hop up 251 / 265 parts for sale.

Back in Feb 1998, we went to the NATPA qualifier pull in Princeton, In. This was back when they was still pulling in the old building before they upgraded. May have been the last national pull ever held there before the building was upgraded.... We had our video camera filming the classes, when out from the old building comes this old custom,, just getting a bite and the front end was up in the air and then SNAP! Front end dropped like a stone. I will double check the tape for sure,,, but you probably know its you,, lol. If what Im understanding is true, was that the last time you ever pulled that tractor?? Maybe you might want a copy of the last ride?

I thank you for the offer, but no thanks. I remember the day very well. Story has it that a Custom was at the state fair in 1950 and won the class. I have seen a picture of it. It wasnt my tractor cause mine has a standard transmission not a fluid drive.

I wasnt trying to rub that in there,, Ive seen that tractor on more than one occasion pull, and do very well, and when it disappeared off the pulling circuits, I wondered where it went. Im just glad to see you stil have it and having fun with it still.
