Can anyboby in the know tell me which tire would be best on a very hard track? I know minimal tread and a sharp leading edge on the lug is best, but I don't know if you should go with a 23 degree lug or 45 degree lug.

my opinion is that on a hard and or sticky track a short barred 23 is hard to beat, 45's seem to do well on looser, poorer prepared tracks, 30's have done well also and of course there is exceptions in all three cases
