I have been talking to club members and others outside of a Michigan based club, and I want to know if anyone would consider attending a $200 to win 3800# and 5800# 4.5 mph jackpot class this July. It would basically be div 3 rules, 4.5 mph, winner take all. The pull would be located in the central area of the state, during a saturday night under the lights, on a 200+ foot groomed clay track. Everyone would be welcome, and a regular club pull would take part earlier that day. There are camping sites on the premises, and a festival/barbeque on the same grounds. What do you all think? I really need feedback.

Sounds like a great idea. Would those be the only pulls in the evening? What would be the entry fee? Also you will need to spell out the rules before hand. If they are not strictly NATPA division 3, you will need to tell what's different. (Example: 4.5mph or 3.5mph, one beep of the horn or 3, straight exhaust pipe, etc.)

Well, the rules will be ironed out at the March club meeting, and on paper by early April. Right now I can say that any Div 3 tractor would be legal within the rules.

Would be interested, but what about the clubs rules? Are they going to be leniant on their own rules to let people whose tractors may not comply with the clubs so they may have a full day of pulling?

To answer both questions, yes it is the Fowler track, and I am working on getting a better roller. To answer the technical question, I am working on a short, concise tech inspection sheet, in which I can go over the tractors at weigh in. As far as written rules go, what is written will be enforced. XX" inch drawbar is an XX" drawbar. 11 feet from center of rear axle to end of tractor IS 11 feet. I want everyone to be able to compete, but I also want the playing field to be as fair as possible. This is about FUN, afterall. Thanks for the feedback guys!

I pull at gladwin, evart, hawkins, remus, blanchard, Mt. Pleasant, west branch, rosebush, pretty much anywhere thats farm stock and antiques, most are 3-5mph speed limits, but westbranch and mt. pleasant are still dyno. Evart is one of the best if they would decide on top cuts or not, every year, its no cuts, but theres half the people there with cuts and pull anyways. they have a rabbit out front and a wheel 20ft. back and you can't get ahead of the flag, or behind the wheel. if you touch the flag, your out. maybe if ya should out a line to two-cylinder or some of them around my area, they could give ya some good general even ruls. I would like to see..LOL..my ideal would be no tire size limit, and a 3-4 mph speed limit. and no RPM limit, as long as your safe. 20" high hitch, 18 from the center of the axle....RUN WHAT YOU BRUNG kinda deal, i HATE so many rules, people, use your heads that way we dont' have to have such stupid rules.

I also wanted to add that the club rules at pretty much inline with most common antique pulling rules, NATPA, etc..

If you show up, we'll find a class for you.
