My son pulled our Unstyled G a couple weeks ago and did very well although he did get last we still had a ball. My question is this, right at the end of his pull he idled the tractor down as she was starting to spin, the tires started to grab and all the sudden the clutch slipped. Veery frustrating to watch, oh well. A gentleman told me that I needed to putch a later model G clutch assembly on because the later clutch will snap into place while the unstyled clutch is spunjy and won't go over center. I appologize if this is confusing but I'm looking for some guidance here. Thanks.

If your SN is G13803 and higher then what Jak says is most likely true. If SN 13802 and lower then your original clutch is the cam type which is very prone to slipping. The best fix for this is to get a later pulley assembly from salvage and overhaul it with new toggles and dogs and your problem will go away.

Your dogs and toggles might be worn out.Try tightening first but if it doesen't knuckle over still than you might be removing the clutch assembly and replacing these. To my knowlege these are all designed the same to knucle over and snap.

Yor just need to tighten the cluch drive up. You might want to buy a new cluth disk to.
