The cheapest way to gain power without too much machining costs is to simply to set over M5 blocks and pistons on it. The pistons are ever so slightly taller but if you order a thicker gasket from Lubbock, it takes up the difference. Because you go from 283 to 336 cubes, your compression goes up too. They bore to 4.81 if a fella wants. As far as bolt on? Use LP manifolds and slap a M670 venturi in your carb. Both pep it up just a tad. More money? Lets talk G crankshaft. That gives you a few more options.

M5 LP manifolds and your carb.Lighten the govenor weights and a stiffer spring.High comperrsion heads ,don't know how far you want to go with it.
