Can I just drop off the hyd/pto unit on my 53 DC Case and make a plate to cover the rear end? I'm needing to take some weight off the rear and put it on the front. Anyone have any suggestions or pictures? Thanks.

you can replace with a factory cover from a c or cc without pto or a d without pto. we have a few of the covers but not sure if they would be for sale. keep checking around, they are not that hard to find. you will save alot of weight by removing pto.

I've seen Lamonts and it has a set of custom front wheels that are as light as vehicle rims. Lamont you can pull it off and there is a cover that fits it if you can find one. You will probably have to have a cover built for it and when you do take it off if you take if you notice it is in two sections. If you take both of the sections off, which you can you will need to fabricate a cover that will allow clearance for that huge bull gear that the DC hase in it. Those things have a transmission that would pull a Sherman Tank. Good Luck!! P.S. I over heard Pops ans Rahlo talking about pulling that LP 400 ya'll have down to the bear minimum and pulling it. You might have some compitition, but that's what it's all about.

Hey thanks. I guess I'll just pull it off and go from there. Yeah, those transmissions are unbelievabley heavy. Some people who really get into building one of these for a puller cut those bull gears in half. That would cut out a lot of weight, especially when you consider that it cuts the chain weight too!!! I'm not going that far though. I'd just like to be able to pull the 5,000 lb. class without looking at the sky. Where did you see it? I've only had it out to a couple of pulls since I bought it. Did it belong to my cousin Tony at the time? See ya around.

You gotta put wait on the front?? Dang Lamont dare I ask what ya got in it? LOL!!! I don't know if you can do that but we pulled ours one time (it is bone stock and really a show tractor) but that thing has solid cast front wheels. Heck I bet they weight 200# apiece, hehe ask Jax.

When you gonna get one of those Real Green ones?? LMAO!!! Talk to you later!

Bubba Ray is correct. I bought this DC from my cousin who had built a special front end for it with small 5-hole hubs and lighweight spoke wheels. It's really a neat old tractor with Eagle hitch, foot clutch, etc. Of course all of that is off of it right now. I got all of the original parts with it and will probably put it all back original someday. Right now, I'd like to go ahead and finish making a puller out of it. It still has the original cast wheels on the rear and that huge hyd/pto unit on the back. I can get it in the 5,000 lb. class like it is but I can't add weight to the front and it just stands straight up. It does a good job in the 5500 and 6500 lb. classes, but you know how it is. We've got to get down to the next class. I figure with some pressed steel on the rear and drop off the hyd/pto, I'm in the 5,000 lb. class with plenty of weight to play with. Maybe I'll get some time to work on it pretty soon. Y'all got anything in the plans right now? I hope to make it out to a few pulls this Summer. By the way, I wouldn't mind having one of the REAL Green tractors like y'all have. Just not one of those green imposters with an animal on the side of it. HEE HEE! See ya later.
