This will bring out all the smart olly comments, but, Is there any answer to the 88 olly in an open rpm class. 4100 to 5600 lbs. We can,t run 60 series farmalls. We do have a couple of WC,s turning 5500 rpm,s but it not getting it done. We must also run the original block for that tractor. The ollys can,t use 1600 blocks. This class is dieing a slow death. I would like to see the farmalls but the '58' rule is in the way.

Just think what we could do if allowed to run complete Oliver 99 engine or same thing as 1100 Massey. The rules are turned against the olivers now. You and I both know what would happen if these rules were even across all manfactures. A 58 and newer farmall should not pull against a 1947-53 88 Oliver.

Dave - I have seen a Massey Harris 203 equipped with a Continental B427 flathead (in lieu of the original M330 Continental flathead) absolutely dominate the open RPM classes. In addition, the B427 had been converted to overhead valve via a set of modified Ford (429?) V-8 heads! From my best estimates, it was well over 400HP (naturally aspirated).

It just so happens that the MH55 chassis is identical to the MH203. So now if you could just find the sheetmetal (or make it), you would be in business. Finding a Continental B427 would not be that hard either, as they were used in combines and pull type Fox corn choppers.

Goldsburg
