How small is it safe to turn a Div 4-Super H's or Ford 900 stroked crank journal. Can you go smaller with a narrower journal ground and let more of the weld strengthen it instead of a wide journal. I want to build a good one but do not want to build it twice.
Thanks
Rusty

Crankshaft stroking requires large radius on the journals for strength.(courners of the journal). The other thing you have to consider is the oil passage that feeds oil to your rod journals. Sometimes when you narrow up the journal you can offset the journal away from the oil passage. Whoever does your crank will probably know how far you can go if its a tractor that has been done before. Build It Until Breaks then back off. ONLY JOKING Earl
