Need some help!

I recently bought a Super M at an auction about a month ago. Nobody knows anything about it. I am new to this but it was totaly striped down. No hydralic pump no pto nothing. The guy bought it down south and kept it for the winter needed some money and wanted to sell it. It has cut tires on it and the guy told him it was a great pulling tractor. I pulled it a couple of weeks ago and it didn't seem like it lugged like it should. How do I know if it has had any motor work or if anything is really done to it. What can I do to get a few more RPM's out of it. Any words of wisdom would be great.

Just look in the classified and photo ads on here. There's several dozen tractors that have had weight brackets and a coat of paint and **POOF** they are pulling tractors...

Check compression
If you are really curious, pull the oil pan and look around.. It's probably stock with cut tires an weight brackets.

What should the compression be stock? What would it be if it weren't? Thanks
