Hey guys,

I have a 49 M that I am trying to get into the 4500lb stock class. It currently weighs exactly 5000 with me on it. I'm about 185 and me losing weight is out of the question cause I like pizza too much.

Anyway, once the belt pulley is off, what else can I do to save that weight?

Is it even possible to lose 500lbs on an M and still remain stock?

Thanks in advance for the help.

Vic

Easiest way to lose 100 pounds is to find 100 plces to Lose One pound. Remove the belt pulley, PTO, and Lift-all. Hope your running a short drawbar already. Lose the oil bath air filter...run a couple dry pleated paper filters. Do You really need a battery box? Or the generator? And You could drain a gallon of coolant I bet...And You haven't spent a penny. Run a 4-ply rear tire... steel disc wheels frt & rear...weld-up a light weight seat, cut the excess axle bar length off and I bet You weigh in close to 4000#

You were talking about not wanting to mess the paint up. I would be really careful taking the parts off the tractor and then find some alumnium plates. Polish them out then use them to cover the holes on the tractor. Not only do they keep oil from splattering all over the tractor but they look good to. Well theres my two cents. D Dude

You can drain some oil out of the rearend to help cut weight. You can also run your rear tires tubeless to cut some weight.

Putting on pressed steel rims will drop you quite a bit and most of the strict clubs allow them.

All of the above... and take the hydraulic pump off too. Good luck - from what I've seen, you'll still be dieting for the last 100 - 200 pounds.
