I pull a 960 Ford, I use 24 of the small 30lb pie weigthts and put 4-5 40lb skidsteer-compact tractor weights on the front. I"ve got firestone 13.6X 28 usually run 8-10 lbs of air.

hi, Rob...I pull with a '63 4000 SOS...not exactly the same tractor, but kinda close. I don't think I'd be good for too many tips...I usually manage to place dead last in the 4500# class, although at the last pull I went to, I fared SLIGHTLY better...seventh out of nine!

Reckon you might say I'm still learning...only been on the hook about a dozen times.

Good luck!
Pat

Yep, we are slightly different. I've been down the track for over 8 years now. I seem to fair out pretty good this year. I'm running w/ the "tough" tractors out there & am staying right w/ them. Missed the last hook by 5' in 2 different classes. Lot of people would be pissed, but I was happy to be right there with them. It's all about getting the tractor balanced & right tire pressure to make it hook up. Figure all that out & you are going to be right up there with the best of them.
