A 1370 can easily pull with 250+ hp. Keep the trans. pressure on the high side and snug up the torque limiter disc. If your trans is now in GOOD condition don't be afraid to have a good time, the red guys will soon quit talking to you cause you should consistently get on top of them. We had a lot of fun with ours, Dale

We used to pull a 1370 in the local farm classes and did really well once we figured out running a little faster helped. We bought it new in 72 and farmed with it for 25 years. Only thing we did to it was turned the RPMS up and turned the fuel screw all the way, put it in 3rd 3rd and started beating the Deeres and IHs. Best tractor we ever pulled. No substitute for cubic inches!!

I don't know specifically the answer to your question because I don't know how far you want to go but will tell you that the engine will make more power than the torque limiter will stand without modification, also since the main clutch is C2 powershift clutch slipping the clutch in the process of getting big boost pressure up will destroy the p/s clutch. If you are going to pull stock classes ok but more will be a challenge holding these parts of the power train together. One of the strongest Cases in the nation is owned by a good friend and he uses a gear drive slipper combo. Hope this helps. mEl

Case used one of the powershift clutches (C2) as a main clutch in all the rps34 transmissions. The clutch on the engine flywheel is only a torque limiter. This transmission is NOT suited for the highest levels of tractor pulling competetion as building boost with clutch slippage will destroy the c2 clutch by warping the plates immediately. A standard transmission with 1/2 gears in the range box differential mods and a slipper is the only way to go. Maybe if you are not after the top levels of competetion you would be alright but serious pullers will not be useing that setup. As I stated previously one of my friends is running what many consider the top diesel Case and he is running the old trans setup. If you are going to use the 1370 trans for max power application, good luck. mEl
