I was wondering why some of the new pickups do so poorly compared to the older ones? At a pull this past Saturday I saw a number of newer Chevy's including a 2007 Silverado with a 6.0 just run out of power and kill half way down the track. The older Chevy's with 350's did better and at least spun out.

there are so many variables manual vs. auto big diaqmeter tires vs small high range vslow but one of the best pulling stock vehicles I have ever seen is 4x4 chevy suburban with a 5.3 and the 4L60e.I think he runs in high range and in drive as it raps way up then shifts up at about 1/3 track and then shifts down again about 3/4 track.he has beat alot of slightly modified older pickups. WELL THANKS TO OUR GREAT GOVERMENT AND CALIFORNIA THE EMMISION CONTROL HAVE CAUSE US TO LOSE HORSEPOWER. I KNOW MY NEW TRUCK WITHOUT A CHIP WAS REAL SAD COMPARED TO THE 2003 WE STILL USE. SO I DON'T KNOW BUT HAVE MY IDEA ITS GET SOME FUEL MILEAGE OR YOU CAN'T SELL IN THE USA.GOOD THING EPA DOESN'T GO TO TRACTOR PULLS WITH THE SMOKERS RUNNING OR THEY WOULD BE RUNNING SMOKE CONTROL. ITS STUPID THAT WE CAN'T RUN THEM OUR WAY INSTEAD OF THERE WAY!!! JUST MY 2 CENTS WORTH!! PLUS WHO CAN EVER REMEMBER DIESEL FUEL BEING HIGHER THAN GAS IN YEARS PAST.----- --2007 DURAMAX OWNER!
