I have a Pertronix positive ground electronic ignition in my 53 puller G and at higher rpm's it wants to flutter and sometimes cough.I reset the rocker arms to .020 intake and .022 on the exaust.I am using Autolite 3116's gapped on .041 thousanths. When pulled down it smoothes out.I have set the carb two rounds out on the load needle and gradually increased it but I can't seem to get it all out.I have 110 psi per cylinder.Any suggestions JD people?I have the wires with the actual wire in them too.Thanks,Jack(TN).

Hey Jack try using 8mm carbon filled wires with that electronic ignition and see what happens.I run electronic ignition and a MSD box does fine. JUst an idea. Gman

I had the same problem that plagued me for a year.. I changed to the wires that GMan listed and installed the Plug adapters with AC plugs, and no Problems since.. (I would look at the wires..) Good luck

Try throwing the Autolites away and using AC or buy the auto plug adaptors and using NGK plugs. They work much better for us.

Try a C 86 or C 87, they both work pretty good for us, with either Jacob's or MSD ignitions.

I run C 86's in one of my G's and they seem to work really well. The other has C88L AC's and they work good too.
