Who's the AC camshaft wizard.Since I'm rebuilding this hot rod I might as well get it checked out.Looks like it's been ground to me.

Since I posted about the water in oil problem this is what I've found out.The liners have been moving and the block is cracked. There wasn't any o-rings around liners just hard block. We're going to try to fix the block and machine some liners to fit with an o-ring on the bottom. Then refill with hard block.

The piston's are,I think BBC 4.5 in. bore.Cleaned the crank up and it's about 5 in. stroke. The head has been cleaned up and polished with bigger valves and I think heavy springs but not sure yet.

So,after all this guessing and trying to figure out what was what I thought I'd ask about camshafts. Thanks.

Hard block will NOT seal water. It's not designed to do that.I don't use or recommend hard block.Find a different block! As far as cams give me a call and I can help, but know your true mechanical comp ratio, valve diameters, carb bore size, venturie size make and model, and rpm yor wanting to run,DO NOT run too heavy of valve springs unless your turning in excess of 3000rpm. Why would you try to go through all that work and fix the block? Just put together another one and build it better. I just found that my 4.5 block is cracked in between the liners on the deck, and there is no way I am messing with it....
