How many tractors at your favorite pulls? At Symco Thresheree Tractor Pull near Manawa, Wisconsin the last Saturday of July they had 268 tractors hooked with each tractor hooking only once. The first Saturday of August the Scandinavia Corn Roast had 293 hooks with tractors allowed to hook more than once. Number of tractors and pullers appear to be up slightly from last year at all pulls - even with the high gas prices for hauling tractors to a pull. What are you finding in your neighborhood?

I go the polk county fair pull (saint croix falls) every year for a while now, this year (july 28th) there were around 175 different tractors, with more hooks as some of them pulled more than once.

They do that at the Cement Pulls in our area, to preserve the front edge of the lug. We have pulls in the Central Michigan area the have 200+ tractors also.

Backward tires on blacktop in reply to chadh, 08-08-2007 10:10:52
Turning the wheels around is an easy way of preserving the sharp front edge for clay track pulls. In fact, spinning the tires backwards on blacktop will help sharpen the tires for clay pulls.
