My question is this. Has anyone removed the baffel on the exhaust side of the cold manifold. If so, was there any noticebale improvements? I am using a Flat Head on my "GM", and I am always looking for a "wee dab" more to help when pulling.
Also is the correct torque 208.
Thanks in advance.

I have, and it does make a difference, in the way it sounds and performs. I can't give you a horsepower gain, but I do make several more horsepower than my friends with identical tractors and the same components as are in theirs.

Thanks for that information, I am "FRESHING" up my "GM" with some new rings, so I thought I may give it a try while I have a chance. I still would like the torque specs on the Rods, and Cylinder head.
To my knowledge, very few of the two cylinder manifolds has a baffel in it.
Thanks.

The book says to torque the head bolts to 208 and the rod bolts to 62.5 on G's. Hope this helps.
