Hey guys,
I have an H that doesn't run, and I have an F-20 sitting in the shed...I know the F-20 has a quite bigger block, but gets less hp. I see the F-20 has a quite bigger carb also, but runs slower RPM's and has a magnito.

My question is...Can I run a distributor on it, turn the RPM's up, and get better power? Does anyone know how to get better RPM's out of the F-20 governor? What do you F-20 pullers do? Is there any way you can bolt the F-20 block into the H frame? I know that the H can get into a 3,500# class with steel rear rims, and the frame is weighted better anyway. Just looking for your guys' thoughts. Thanks. Craig

unless you really like F-20's I would build the H. I do like to see a good f-20 puller but an H has many benefits over the f-20 engine including a center main. A friend of mine has a 502inch f-20 that runs good but everybody including him expects the crank to break eventually(he did not add a center main). A smaller inch 20 could be made to hold up ok. Mike McPeek and Jeff Merfeld are a couple of 20 pullers that do quite well, among others.
