I have an Oliver 880 I am putting a fresh 310 diesel in. It has had the pump turned up some. I am curious about how fast to spin this motor. How do I adjust the governor, do I need to increase the timing? I am going to use an electric lift pump, how much fuel pressure should I run or what pump? Thanks for any help!!

We run about 40lb of pressure through our pump, what ever fuel the pump doesnt use it just pushes back to the tank anyhow. that engine will spin 3000rpm no problam, i would say take that pump off and send it to a injection pump shop and tell them what you are doing with it, what rpm you want to run, and they will set it up for you. 20 degrees after is where ours runs the best. email me if you would like more info.
