Fellas, Was wonderin if there was some tips out there for the rookie puller.I pulled for first time in the farmers stock antique class and enjoyed it alot. I pulled a stock wd45 with a schwartz wide front and was fairly competetive in the 4900 class. My tractor scaled out at 4820 with me on it(240 for me)the ol gal never really ran outa power but kinda just spun out. I had no wieghts on her but just ballest in the tires, Was wonderin should I loose the calcium in the tires and try to drop a class or would that hurt more than help. In my expeirance with farmin these ol gals no wieght at all causes them to just spin down in the fields. thanks alot Hoss

Fellas, Thanks so much for the advice. Im sure experiance is the best teacher but till I get some your advice will help alot in gettin me headin in the right direction. Again thanks alot for the input, Hoss P.S. No the front end didnt come off the ground before I spun out. The shwartz wide front might have been the cause, it appears to be alot heavier built than my 45 with the stock wide front.

No offense to "hoss in Maine" but I wouldn't run 5 psi. I am usually more in the 12 area.

Add more weight I pull a wc in the 3000# class and it will spin out in 2nd gear. I will be weighing it down to 6000#. Have fun

She spun but didn't lift the front wheels? Is the drawbar at max legal height for the class? If there is still weight on the front wheels as she spins out, the drawbar needs to be lengthened.

Get rid of the ballast and run about 5 lb of air and you should be all set. Later Hoss
