Anyone have any ideas on a differential lock for a farmall 460. I dont want to build a limited slip, I mean a real diff lock like on a JD 4020 etc. This is for the dead weight pulls we have in the area where the biggest thing is getting the pan to even budge. Will parts from any other IH fit in the 460 rearend to make a good diff lock? Any fabrication ideas? use of some kind of clutch, magnet???? etc...

Can you steer the tractor at all if you weld the differential?

Like Drew said, Weld up the differential.
Miller makes fine products as well. "Miller Locker" sounds funny though.

I would guess he means taking the "Lincoln" welder to the spider gears.

HEY Drew

I think he means welding the spiders also.
I have done it for a friend of mine running a car in a 2 liter class on a road couses and he loves it! powering into the turns.

Guido.
