There was a big discussion on here a while back about a 460 Farmall that was on ebay. Someone made a statement about the fact that the wheelie bars and drawbar were not legal (NATPA rules) because they were connected. Someone, I believe from Minnesota, said that he had always built NTPA tractors and that they were legal in that association.

Well this got my curiosity up because it just did not seem like a safe way at all.If one or the other broke, especially at the speeds they run, it would be very dangerous.

Well anyhow I sent off and got a NTPA rule book to find out for sure.

Under Drawbars on page 20 it states rule # 13. Do not connect drawbars and wheelie bars.

So I guess that will end that argument and the old boy from Minnesota needs to redo the tractors he has built.

Rule # 3 in the 2007 NTPA rulebook is Eligibility.

The rule I'm refering to is under IV.General Rules-All Divisions E. Drawbars Starts on page 17 and on page 20 # 13 it states plainly Do Not Connect Drawbars And Wheelie Bars.
No where in that does the word Should exist.

Under Q. Stabilizer Bars # 3 states Stabilizer bar and bar assembly is not to be mounted to the drawbar and drawbar assembly.

If you look at the diagram they have it says under it, The stabilizer bars and their assembly are not in any to be connected to the drawbar and it's assembly.

That's exactly what it says.
