Whats the biggest bore that can be put into a stock JD A block. It's an early Cyclone A with the Hi/Low. I found a set of 720lp pistons that I would like to put in. I've searched and found that 720's are a 6" bore. Is this possible to fit inmy A? and what would have to be done to work Sleeves?, Hardblock?. Thanks Guys

What year is your A? I've got a couple of power blocks I would sell that would fit that would give you 6 to 6.125 bore. Mike

Sorry, if I read the title it said 1948. The power block I have for that year needs dry sleeved back to a 6" bore. E-mail if interested

How much is it roughly to get an A block bored and sleeved to put 6 1/2" pistons in it. How reliable would this be

To get a stock block resleeved to 6.500" will be give or take $1200. It may leak water, it may not.

Murphys Motor Service will have NEW 6.500" A power blocks for A's available in coming months.

I keep losing the address of the shop that does custom oversize sleeves on two cylinders. Do have it handy?

6.75" if you resleeve it. 5.75" if you just bore it.
