Never been run or assembled. With a little extra work, by either brazing or welding the sleeves in the top of the block, hard block it up to the bottom of the water plate, or a little below the plate, it would hold water out of the cyls without a deck plate. If the hard bock is done right, it should not leak in the oil. The sleeves have a rough ridged pattern on the outside of the em,, the hard block will actually soak into these ridges and help hold em in even more. The way it is now,,, without the finish work, no it would not hold water. $375. We usually run em on the block,, hardblocked up to the bottom of the plate,,, Ive yet to overheat any of the engines we have done like this even at 15 to 1 compression ratio. Problem was,,, the darn sleeves leaked water inthe oil, I got tired of changing the oil after each day, and after a while, changed it after every run,, so I torn it down and totally redesigned what I had. It had taken me 3 years to find a good block,,, what I mean by that is, taking off the water plate, looking at the cyl walls from the outside,, and not seing any kind of rust. Found one that still had the primer inside the water jacket, looked like brand new. I went with a C169, (300) block. Im sure it will do what I ask of it and hold up for years at over 100 hp at rated rpm. Chad

How big are you looking to go? What division(speed limit or open)? Are you looking to build yourself or buy a complete engine? I may know someone who is willing to sell.

I got a 350 block with thick sleeves sitting at 3.999 bore ready go bore bigger. Would have hard block up to the water plate and circulate thru the top of the block and head. Best if it had a deck plate and dropped in dry sleeves to 4 inch. Was gonna be a 4X6. we stayed smaller ci, to keep it in the stock realms of the block, and hold together for a long time. There are fellas here at YT that may still have a 6 inch stroker crank for sale for a H-350,,,, ask around, youll find what your looking for! ChadS www.thetractorshop.com

Correction, block is 3.90 bore. Sleeves are .210 thick, It could hold water... has to be hard blocked to help hold the darn sleeves in place! LOL! But only up to the bottom of the water plate. To solidly hold water out of the cyls, best to use a deck plate, and put in dry sleeve inserts, inside the aftermarket sleeves. That was my intention for this block, but, opted to to run it on the original block walls and have a cooling system that wont leak. Id take 375 for the 350 block with the big sleeves. But as far as what we was gonna do,, the 4x6, would have used mazda truck rods, I cant remember what piston,, was possibly a 302/351 ford piston,, Id have to look it up again.
