I have a 1952 JD 50 that I pull with and was wondering if I could put a 520-530 head on it and if I could what would I have to change out.

Thanks for any info.

Don't waste your time with the head change..!! I have a '52 "B"---Granted, it is +.180--But... it will definitely out work AND out pull my '57 520.....and the 520 is a good tractor...

A 50 with 520 heads would look odd with two spark plug holes per cylinder.

Would it work that way?

Measure the piston deck heighth and combustion chamber volumes. A 50 block with 50 pistons and a 520 head would have a compression ratio of about 3-1/2 to 1.

A 520-530 head won't bolt on to a 50 block.
