301combine v/s truck 308ci

ive got a farmall 560 i wanna fix up for pulling welp ive got a nehibor thats got a combine that he will sell cheap 500 runs good has the 301 gas on it but ive got a old dump truck with the 308 in it they both look about the same 2 me other than the manifolds so what all do i gotta change and which would be the better motor for my 560 thanks for any advice!

Use the 301, it is a simple bolt in. The 308 is nightmare. If you choose the 308 be prepared to do a lot of machining.

The 308 truck motor, while called a Black Diamond, really isn't related to the SD/BD/BG 220/221-240/241-264/265 truck engines, which are closely related to the C221-C263-C291-C301 ag motors. Instead, the 308 is of the family known as the Blue Diamond [BLD] engines, as is evidenced by the long distributor shaft and the short valve cover. There's basically NO interchange between the 308 and the others.
