Did JD make a flatback for a 70? Will a "G" flatback # F 951 fit a 70?
Thanks BUDD

My father-in-law bought an aluminum rear cover for his JD 70 from K&K. It was was just a aluminum casting. I machined it and we got the parts and switched it a non-live pto. I had to machine it for the pto shaft. You would never know any difference
if you didnt know.

Budd, sorry bout that,,, this summer I had G apart in the shop,,, we ordered gaskets for it,, found em to be wrong,,, I forgot what happened actually,,, then remember they sent the crankcase/rear end gasket rather the rear end/powertrol gasket. I know a place locally that might make ya one on a minutes notice,,,

Took the front weight bracket off the M"s last week!! From what I understand, we can still use suitcase weights up front, but cant go past the front of the tractor. So Im building brackets off the sides of the frame rails to attach em. Then, probably gonna go visit the new club up northeast way. Talked to alot of fellas that pull with em,, they said they have a good thing started. Gonna check it out. Happy New Year! Chad

BUDD- They are both the same, and yes to chads they have the same bolt pat.(G/70) I have one from k/k on mine, no pto shaft hole as it was filled in when they casted it and the bolt patern were there but had to drill all the holes as they DID NOT take the time to drill them. grrrrr But to lose wieght the k/k was very light. OK for the mod classes but for farm stock you better check with your rules Bill

I wondered the same thing on a 730! Do you remember the 70 that pulled mods a while back? I dont know if they removed all the accesories and smoothed it out or if it was made that way,, but looked just like the powertrol just with nothing on it. Some say they made it, some say it came from Polks. the gasket bolt pattern for the rear dont think its the same on the G/70.

The flatback on a styled G not GM will fit on the 70. I believe they carry the same part number.

Now, there was also a bareback made for the 730. DeeresofYesteryear had one a couple of months ago on a 730 RC All-Fuel with factory delete power steering and no pto! I dont have any idea what the part number is on that.

parts book shows the rear axle housing cover for 720/730 tractors with no powershaft and no rockshaft as AF-2883-R.Not very flat, kinda boxy looking. The powershaft delete still uses a large powershaft housing, just puts a cover where the powershaft would have come out.Bill M
