Looking for advice about porting head for antique pulling tractor. At stock RPM's or 20% over, is there much advantage to opening up the head more then needed to clean up the ports? At this point the motor is stock Gleaner 262 Cu In. I have been told by going big on the ports at lower RPM I would loose HP rather then gain HP. I don't want to waste time and money if there truely isn't any improvement or if I could loose HP, so I'm looking for some advice from those that have been there.

If you HOG things out you could hurt low end power. You can clean up the sharp edge's and the rough casting's and it will help. You can also port match to the gasket but you will have to do that to the head and manifold.
