start slow and remember to have fun. When I was your age we had a 460 D that was somewhat "adjusted" It would dyno 175 hp on diesel w/o alcohol(we ran on the track) Then we got serious and stripped it(no more PTO to dyno) and it got stronger. We were always in the money but rarely a threat to win. To win you need srious money, we were just out to have fun and maybe make gas money. Good luck and enjoy yourself

A 460 is a great start try to get and engine out of a 715 or an 806 these blocks have no sleeves and can be bored to just over 4 inch with no worries or water leaks mine pulls 3500 with a T/A, 3750, and 4000 Division 5 (NATPA RULES) a 460 works great anywhere form 3500 to 5500 depending on what class and what modification is allowed weight ration is a little out of balance in the lighter classes, you may need to take some off the front and put it on the back. Anyway you got a great tractor to start with and a motor that has alot of potential Good Luck

Get the motor from an 806 or a 715 international combine and go from there.

First decide what class you want to pull.

I am 16 and I have actually been looking into a 560 without a motor too and I was going to put a 301 in it out of a 715 combine and go from there. It's a good starting point with a lot of power to build up on. Good luck!
