I am thinking about pulling a 300 but I don't know how much it weighs to start with. It has a fast hitch. Are those good to pull with? I also would like to know what the stock size rear tire the tractor should have on it? I think they are supposed to be 13.6 38s. Right now it has 15.5 38s on it but they come of an Oliver 880, rims and all. I would like to keep the tractor stock because I am going to restore it because my grandpa bought it used in 1957 or 58 used and it has been on the family farm ever since so any info would be great thanks

Mark , 300 are good pulling tractors but you may be running up against Farmall M,s and others because of your wt they tend to have just a little more power than you do. the 300 base wt will be the problem it will not make the 4500 # class and the next class is 5500 # unless you do alot of stripping , Fast hitch and small wheels and even than it tough to get to 4500# class with a driver Even so you will have alot of fun pulling the old girl and you can win I have

I have tried pulling my 300 just for gigggles and to check out the clutch,TA and see how the motor ran. I had to strip it of all front and rear weights and take out some fuel to make the 5000 lb class. But when you go against D-17 AC,s and Oliver 770 and lots of M's you will have fun but no cigar. my son has a 300 that he pulls with, he did bore motor out some and has electronic ignition, but otherwise mostly stock. he has a set of 14.9x38 cut tires that he is very competative in the 4500. he has no aluminum on it to make weight. the working ta makes a lot of difference.
