I was looking on the Photo Ads and I saw a Super C with a 153 ci engine, which is similar to the engine in the H, I am wondering what combine this comes out of and if anyone knows how easy it is to bolt it up.

I have a Super C that has the 153 motor in it. I had to rework the fan a little to work with the SC radiator but other than that its fine.
I am not sure what was done as far as the drive shaft bushing goes but I am going to find out soon because it needs a new input bearing in the trans. So I will take it all apart just to be nosey.
Mine came out of a 203 combine.

They are out of swathers and power units. Bolt right up, as long as you get the 153 that has the C thru 240 bellhousing bolt pattern. They also made one with a different bolt pattern. You probably will have to shorten the input shaft, machine the flywheel and build a sleave to hold the pilot bearing in the flywheel. Some have a pilot bearing hole already in them. Or you can have the crank machined for a pilot bearing. Depending on the dampener on your 153 you may have to grind the front bolster for clearance. If you want to run a fan instead of an electric you will also need to change water pumps with the original. Jake

what do you mean by change water pumps with the original? What about a stock 153 fan that came on the motor out of combine. maybe shorten the blades?? I do know about the pilot bearing deal but shorten the input shaft? How do you tell little short or little long?

You use the stock super C water pump not the one on the 153. At least that is what needs done on a 240. The 240 fan was much smaller than the power unit or swather motor I used. As far as how much to shorten the input shaft, measure the differance between where your original pilot bearing was in the crank, and how much farther back it is now in the flywheel. It was around 0.750" that I had to remove. Just make sure it has endplay and is'nt bound up. On the 240's you only cut into the area that the pilot bearing runs on,not the clutch disc splines. Jake

Thte water pump on the 153 that I have is mounted up high on the block. The Super C's that I have seen with water pumps are mounted where the lower water neck is or lower radiator hose. Unless it has a different block.
