While any ststem has its weaknesses the chain drive ststem is as strong as anything out there or stronger. I have no experience with 6-900s but much with DCs.In Pa in th 60s-70s there was a DC with a blown 427 Chev that was ran in the mod NTPA classes for yrs owned by a man named Stanley Graver, Also I had a Alcohol Turbo DC in SS classes that did well and never had a trans failure or broke a chain. aRt is aware of both these tractors and will back up whatI am posting.

I had a DC that the chain broke in.I don't think it was anything I did to it Makes me wonder what the previos owner did to it. With all the talk about the big 600 I was wondering if anyone ever built up a 400? They have a pretty good engine with five main bearings on the crank. You would think these would build up pretty good.I have been thinking of doing something with one myself, but don't have the $$$$$ for it right now.I'll just have to stick to pulling my 400 in the farm class for now.

Larry you are right about chains breakings we my dad has had DC,s and 500,s had chain problums I am buildings 900D for pulling went to a lot of work to get away from chains beacause where the chain breaks is where you will fix it or you will take a big chance on busting your housing

Mel, that's me way down at the end in the cheap seats waiting for our turn in the pace class. How about grabbing me and Al something to drink on ur way down here. Its a really long walk up to where the big tractors park by the concession stand. (what mEl doesn't realize is that al and I are filming for americas funniest home videos and have put a big fat snap-on screw driver in mel's sproket. when mel lights her and either the sproket busts or mel catches a flying screw driver in the a__ we're gonna have it on tape and win the money so's we can build us a big one). aRt and his paL aL
