I have an old set of tires I just top cut, and now the bars are real black, and the rest of the tire is still kind of gray looking....looks pretty rough. Anybody figured out a way to "blacken" old tires back up?

I have noticed that paint reducer or lacquer thinner seems to take some of the old bleached rubber off. Found that out when removing overspray off tires after painting rims.
