To dual or not to dual

I am thinking about pulling my tractor at a local Farmstock pull in the 9000ld class. Duals are allowed and I am wondering if it is worth the time to put the 11-38's that came with the hubs I bought on the 14.9-38's that are on the tractor? There is a difference in hieght, I have not done a side by side comparison yet to determine how much.

Do you think I will get traction from them or will they be bulky wheel wieghts?

Thanks
Wheels

Since nobody else has, I'll take a stab at your question. The duals are definitely going to add weight, but they will also add a lot of surface area for that weight to be distributed over. If the track were real soft and sticky, you might keep the tires hooked up. But if it is dry and hard, I would think the duals would just contribute to you spinning out faster - as the greater contact area is going to reduce the psi to the track. In high-horsepower tractors (field use), duals are definitely needed to put the power to the ground, but they also vastly improve flotation. I could be all wet here, and if I am I'm sure someone will tell me so, but this is my two cents.

Thanks for the reply. I probabaly won't get to find out as my 560 suffered a breakdown on Monday and won't be ready even if we find a machinist to rebuild the shaft for the power steering.

I don't know how you manage to put up with Whoever it is that seems to hate you.

Thanks a Lot
