I have a 656 with a bad tranny and a good diesel engine, also a super MD with a bad engine. What would it take to put the 656 engine in the M?
Thanks Jeff

Possibly a 560 flywheel,,,, I know thew back spacing is the same,,, from the back edge of the engine to the edge of the starter ring on both makes,,, Starter ring might need to be swapped to make the M starter work out,,, Im not sure on that one,,, I belive there was 2 different flywheels,,, Ive seen a thicker, and a thinner flywheel for em,,, (for the 6 cyls) I belive your looking for the thicker one,,,, the clutch diameter should match up from the M-560,, and if so,, then you need the 560 pressure plate and the SM disk.... Id have to put one together to know exactly,,,, Ive done the H swapout,,, Not a M,,, yet,,, Chad

Parts needed:
IH 460 flywheel
460 pressure plate
Super H clutch disk
H pilot bearing
H starter ring
IH 460 row crop frame rails
IH 460 rear engine plate

You have to machine the 460 flywheel,,, to fit the H starter ring on that flywheel. Then your stock H starter works! other than that,,, it BOLTS right in the H. wanna see some pictures??? I dressed it up like a 460. I think it turned out pretty good. ChadS
