As I live In the mountains there is not allot of farmland around and therefore no selection in used 3 point backhoes. My nearest largest city is Sokane Washington. I live about 3 hours North. Does anybody know of a place around this area that migh have some used backhoes? Is it really better to have a frame mount? Is there a good website where I can find more info on the different makes of 3 point backhoes?

I live in Spokane and I rarely see them for sale used. I have a frame mount Bradco backhoe built by American Trencher. It has its own hydraulic pump driven off of the PTO. Basically it has been a good machine except for the swing mechanism. The next time you cross the border pick up our local classified ad free paper, the Exchange or the Nickel Nick

I have a Long 1099 that I've used on my MF-135 with a MF-236 loader. I used the loader's external hydraulics rather than the little tractor pump.

A frame mount would be best, but after I looped a sturdy chain from the lower 3 point pins under the tractor drawbar mount, the back hoe could lift the tractor and had good digging power.

I now have that loader on my JD-4020 and also put the back hoe on there using the tractor's internal hydraulics.

Where to find one, I don't know, I bought my Long at Carbon Iowa and had to do a lot of rebuilding, some immediately some later as previously made cobbles crumbled.

I have a 3 point backhoe mounted to a MF 35 Special with a manual trip bucket on front. It does an excellent job digging and trenching. It had a digging depth of 7 ft. You could check ebay for different models.
